Elizabeth Russom Smith

Elizabeth Russom Smith, 78, wife of Ben V. Smith, went to be with The Lord on Saturday, December 3, 2011 after a long illness.
Daughter of John E. and Ruby Griffin Russom, she was a homemaker, a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was predeceased by her daughter, Phyllis Smith Dixon, and her sister, Sylvia Russom Blake.
She was a former member of Windsor Forest Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was a member of Savannah Christian Church.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Ben V. Smith, son, Bobby E. Smith and his wife, Teresa, daughter, Deborah Karimi and her husband Jorge, grandchildren, Stephanie Simmons, Lori Bunn, Jennifer Dempsey, Brent Smith, Michelle Karimi, and Michael Karimi, and 12 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters, Shirley R. Stewart, Karen R. Smith, and Barbara Daggett, and brothers, John C. Russom and Donald J. Russom, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 8, 2011 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Graveside Service will follow at 11:30 a.m., at the Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
Remembrances may be made to Savannah Christian Church,
or the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation MMRF.com.
